Why did the US of A turn into the USS of A? Did it change for better or for worse?

    I think it was because of accidents and deaths. But i'm not totally sure.

    why it changed is because they ad.ded safe, therefore adding the extra S. I think it was over reacted and should have stayed how it was. A.k.a for worse
